How to get to Florence

You can reach Florence by plane from the city airport, located 6 kilometers away, by train from Pisa Airport or from the city of Rome.
If you land at the airport of Florence or Pisa we recommend you choose one of these means of transport:

  • Bus: the shuttle Vola in Bus will take you to the Santa María Novella station in Florence in half an hour for 6 euros or 10 euros, if you buy round trip. From Pisa you have the Airport Bus Express that will leave you at the same station in Florence in 70 minutes for 12 euros.
  • Train: Florence airport does not have train service. In Pisa, you must first take the PisaMover train that will leave you in 5 minutes to Pisa Central Station and from there another train that will take you to Santa María Novella in just over an hour. The total trip costs around 11 euros.
  • Trolley car: the new T2 line will take you to Santa Maria Novella in 20 minutes for 1.5 euros.
  • Cab: It has a price of 20 euros from the Florence airport and from Pisa it is not advisable to exceed 200 euros.

If you are staying in Rome you can reach Florence by high-speed train from Termini station in one hour and 20 minutes. There are several daily trains and you can book the ticket in advance in Omio, so you don't run out of seats.
